Neverland

By Anna Katmore

Although Angelina McFarland loves reading fairytales, she never dreamed of falling right into one herself. But that’s exactly what happens when she slips on her balcony and a flying Peter Pan catches her mid-fall.
Ending up in Neverland where no one seems to age and laws of nature are out of control, Angel has no idea how to get home. Worse, the ruthless captain Hook captures her and keep her trapped on his ship, the Jolly Roger, where she gets caught between the lines of a timeless battle. But the more time Agnel spends with the captain, the more she sees beneath his ruthless façade. The feelings she’s growing for him are as intense as shocking, and soon she can’t stop thinking about how soft his lips felt on hers when he kissed her under the stars. But Angel and a pirate? That’ll never work, or can it?

Oh this book. I thought, this will be lovely. It’s going to be a swashbuckling tale about a girl who falls for the bad boy. Well, the story was interesting, because Peter Pan is a kid who is actually making life worse for everyone by stopping time. Captain Hook, who of course is actually a young man, is trying to set things right. Without giving anything else away, it is also a love story between our heroine, Angel, and the Dashing Hook. It’s the typical teen love story that I was disturbed to see ended with underage sex. I hate that. I really really do. Needless to say I won’t be continuing this story, as I don’t agree with the morals. Read if you like, but it’s not my cup of tea.

I give it a 2 out of 5
