The Story of Ferdinand

Ferdinand is a bull who likes to sit and smell the flowers, but is picked for the bull fights in Madrid.

So this is quite the cutest book I've ever read. The illustrations really make the book. I picked it up because of the movie "The Blind Side". I'd heard of this book, but hearing part of it on the movie made me want to read it. I actually read it to my Mom and we laughed and had a good time. Just goes to show...you're never too old for kids books. :)

Oh my gosh...I have my mother's copy of this book..probably from the 1930's! I always loved this story. Need to find it and read it to my grandkids. Thanks for the reminder of the wonderful book

That is so neat! I love old editions of books. You need to treasure that I'm sure its a collectors item!

A Note About My Ratings

Ratings below each book are out of 5.

1 is me basically saying "I loathe you. And Your dog."

2 is me wondering, "Why was this book published?"

3 is me saying, "It's average. I have no love or hate; it's fine."

4 is me smiling through the whole book and saying, "Nooooo....don't end!"

5 is me having an existential crisis because it reached parts of my soul that I didn't know existed.

Ratings of 4 and 5 are usually books I end up reading more than once and want to own or already do.

I also try and have content warnings within my reviews or at the end of them so you'll never have to worry about getting hit with a book you thought you'd like but it swears like a sailor, has gore, violence, or sexual content. If I haven't said anything about content it's a good indicator that it is clean. It may have a few swear words, but otherwise safe to read.
